The Fly Right Dance Company is Scotland’s only professional dance company specialising in traditional Afro-American dance styles such as Charleston, Lindy hop, Jitterbug and Jive – and original ballroom dance styles, including Ragtime and the original Foxtrot. We live to perform these, and other dance styles, and have brought dance to many well-established jazz festivals, such as the Edinburgh, Glasgow, Wigan and Sacramento international events. We are also in demand for corporate events, particularly themed evenings, and are regular performers at major airshows all over Scotland. Our fun and flexible approach is also much sought-after to teach dance to adults and children alike.
Many people are surprised to learn that we are also a charitable organisation, with a well-established education programme that aims to bring a fun introduction to dance for children of all ages.
As well as presenting dance classes at our community dance studio in Longniddry, the company has a first wedding dance programme to help couples with that potentially awkward moment when they take to the dancefloor together for the first time as husband-and-wife!
